The Governor’s veto of the coal plants was sustained tonight, around 9:15 after two plus hours in session.
the no votes that sustained the veto - ballard. carlin, burroughs colloton crow davis dillmore faust-goudeau flora flaherty frownfelter garcia goyle henderson henry hodge holland huntingdon kuether lane loganbill long mah mcray-miller mcluahglin menghini metsker morrison neighbor potorff quigley rardin ruiz sawyer spaulding storm svaty swenson tietze treaster trimmer ward winn wolf worley
(that is of course not the official count - check CEP’s nose count against the official tally tomorrow)
And hey, guess what! That’s apparently not the final bell on SB 148. Nope, not kidding. Evidently, there is a provision by which the House leadership can “reconsider” the veto override vote.
Meaning, they can hold the vote all over again. Probably tomorrow, if so.
Yeah! that’s what I thought. But hey. We’ll be there!
I was also asked to account for some of the votes who chimed in to help sustain the veto - names that have previously been on different sides of the ledger at time - Morrison (Judy), Henry, Pottorff, Hodge, Swenson, Metsker.
If you want to thank these people, that would certainly be a nice and probably much appreciated gesture. You can find their contact info at the House roster.
