I have a ceramic commuter cup that has a built-in inner lip around the top that does a remarkably good job keeping the coffee from spilling out. It used to have a little removable rubber cover that clipped on top of the lip that prevented all spills, but I quickly lost that but find that the lip by itself does the trick just fine. Doesn't hurt that the coffee tastes much better in ceramic than either stainless steel, plastic OR paper. Cheap and low energy alternative to them, too. I prefer local coffee shops, too!
